Beach Vacation

It doesn't seem to matter how wonderful the vacation is, it's always good to come home! We had a fantabulous vacation in Naples, Florida last week. We stayed at the Edgewater Beach Hotel* and I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough...right on the beach, outstanding service, beautiful suite...awesome! We came home a week ago tomorrow and I've finally had a chance to go through more than 300 photos. Enjoy!

Our first day on the beach...bliss!

Daddy and the girls stop for a photo while checking out the boats at the city dock.

Loving the beach...

A live sand dollar that Daddy found about 30 yards off the shore...it was about 3 inches across. When he put it back into the water Mia thought that we had to put it back so the fish could buy things!

Enjoying the "ocean", which was really the Gulf of Mexico. The water was perfect...warm, but still refreshing.

One of these things is not like the others...poor Daddy just does not tan!

She just couldn't stay awake until we got to dinner...

Yes, this is what I shouted when I saw this store and no, I didn't get to go shopping there...next time!

Bathing beauties strike a pose...

We passed this house everytime we left the resort and I just had to take a photo. I'm pretty sure that our Homeowners Association would not approve this for the front of our house!

Waiting for the sunset...

Getting the sand off Mommy's legs...it's handy to have these little folks around!

As Mia said, "There goes the sun...kerplunk!"

My girlies...waiting for another gorgeous Florida sunset.

My budding photographer...

The sunset on our last night in Naples...

It was exactly what we were looking for when we planned this year's summer vacation...the toughest decision that we had to make each day was whether we were going to start our day at the pool or on the beach!

This week we've been busy enjoying the last few days before school starts. Emily starts 1st grade on Monday and Mia starts Pre-K the day after Labor Day. I can't believe that they're going back to school already. The summer has flown by, but Emily is ready to get back to school and Mia is so excited about starting at "her very own school!" I'm ready to get back to a routine too!

*One note about the Edgewater if you want to consider vacationing there: the rooms in the Tower (the main building that houses registration and the restaurant) have been remodeled and they are fabulous...hard wood floors, beautiful furniture, stainless appliances, basically everything you see on the website. However, the rooms that occupy the two smaller buildings that surround the pool and have walkout access to the beach have not been remodeled and are not nearly as nice as the tower rooms. Hopefully, these rooms will be remodeled soon.
