Emily Does Hybrid!

No, she isn't driving yet!

For those of you who are new to digital scrapbooking lingo, hybrid scrapbooking is combining traditional and digital tools and techniques in a single project. Emily had this shoe box that she wanted to use to make a mailbox for her Valentine cards at school. She asked if I had some paper and ribbons. Well, I had something better...

The whole huge collaborative kit from the Digiridoo designers called, Heart of the Matter!

She picked out everything that I used for the digital part and then, she painted, cut, glued and tied to finish her very first hybrid project!
Of course, I had to {digitally} scrap a page about it!

Created with Heart of the Matter, a collaborative kit from the Designers at Digiridoo Scraps. You can get this kit for FREE when you purchase anything at Digiridoo during the month of February. Oh! And, if you didn't notice...my whole store is 50% off because I'm in the Digiridoo spotlight this month!

Cool Things...

In case you haven't seen these goodies while you were out and about, I wanted to share a few cool things I've recently come across.

See those menu buttons up there under my blog header? I had no idea how to do those until I read this blog post by Rita at CoffeeShop. Super easy...I did it! Rita also has loads of goodies and tutorials on her blog. Grab a cup...you may be there awhile!

The Daily Digi is starting a new series about using basic graphic design principles for your scrapbook pages. Rachel introduces the series in this post. This is going to be a good one in addition to all the amazing information and inspiration shared at The Daily Digi...every day!

And, an overall way cool blog for Photoshop and Photoshop Elements users is Texas Chicks Blog and Pics. Grab a second cup...you'll be here for awhile too!

I reeeeeally hope to get to something creative done soon. I am just worn out between the passing of illness around my house and the cold rainy weather. Hopefully, the predicted sunshine for tomorrow will perk me up!

It's a good thing... {Freebie}

It's a good thing that I didn't make "update blog regularly" one of my New Year's Resolutions, huh?!

I have a good reason for my long absence...

Really!

I was a very good girl last year and Santa gave me Adobe Creative Suite 4 for Christmas {happy dance! happy dance! happy dance!}, so I have been busy tackling the learning curve and designing and having a blast with my new toy!

To make up for my absence, I have a little freebie for you and a sneak peek at something that you can get only if you're a subscriber to the Digiridoo Scraps Newsletter.

Here's the sneak peek at the kit that you can get for FREE next month when I'm in the Designer Spotlight in the Digiridoo Scraps Newsletter...

BUT, you must be signed up to receive our monthly newsletter to get the download! What? You're not signed up for the Digiridoo Newsletter? You can sign up right now to be sure that you don't miss another goody from us at Digiridoo! Click HERE and sign up under NEWS in the right hand column. Do it before the end of January, so you don't miss the February issue that will include goodies from me!

Now, I also have this little treat for you today because...well, just because!

Download here.

More From Our Holidays

I finished two more layouts from December photos...

Mia's class has been practicing for their Christmas program since October and their practice paid off. They did a fabulous job singing "Angels We Have Heard on High", which is a pretty ambitious song for 5 year olds!

Created with my kit, True Beauty

The girls were really anxious to make gingerbread man cookies when Grammy arrived. So, I went out and got a gingerbread man cookie cutter and we whipped up a batch of gingerbread cookies. Unfortunately, it wasn't the right type of dough for cut out cookies. So...Gingerbread Man Cookies Gone (very) Wrong!

Created with the Digiridoo Scraps Team mega kit, Where's Rudolf

By the way, they tasted great and we did make a batch with a better recipe last week!

Getting in Under the Wire...

We've been so busy doing things that I haven't had a chance to scrap about them! Here are a few things from the second half of December...
It has snowed way too much here in Texas...three times this month!

Created with my kit, "Baby It's Cold Outside" available at Digiridoo Scraps

We celebrated Emily's 6th Family Day on December 14th. I swear she was just a tiny 15 lb. one year old yesterday!

Created with paper from "Pink Hope" by Sarah Barber Design and Tape Measure and Slider from my element pack "Watch Me Grow - Tape Measure" available at Digiridoo Scraps.

Christmas morning with my three favorite gifts...

Created with "Where's Rudolf" - a mega collaborative kit from Digiridoo designers.

And, just as shocking as 6 years with Emily is Mia turning FIVE!

Created with my kit "It's My Birthday" and my new element pack "Watch Me Grow - Acrylic Months" available at Digiridoo Scraps.

Happy New Year!!
